 Biography and approach

Marie Aloir has lived and worked for over 30 years in St-Etienne-de-Bolton, a small, picturesque village surrounded by inspiring natural beauty. She discovered the arts at the age of 13. It was a blissful revelation, one from which she would benefit throughout her life. A trained engraver, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Quebec at Montreal and has also studied with Tom Hopkins, Irena Korosec, Pierre Léon Tétreault, Lucio de Heush, and Kittie Bruneau.

 She taught for 10 years then devoted herself to painting in 1983.
