Lydia Fortin, ceramicist and woodworker, born in Montreal in 1968

Trained as a ceramicist and cabinetmaker, I create pieces in clay and/or wood. I work with terra sigillata for its softness and ability to produce a variety of colors, always searching for new shades, as well as wood-firing and woodturning/cabinetmaking: “I am passionate about transforming materials and exploring diverse colors and forms. My sole goal is to evoke emotion through a simple line within the whole. Ceramics and woodworking therefore allow me to explore in every direction…”
