Biography and approach
I am a native of the beautiful Lower St. Lawrence region. At a very young age, we moved to Montérégie, where I grew up. From a very young age, I've always enjoyed drawing. Around the age of 20, after attending an exhibition, the idea of painting took root. I signed up for a class to learn what materials I needed and some basic concepts. I also attended an 8-week workshop with Manon Dumais, where several artists from different mediums came together to share and create.
Over the years, I've painted in oils for pleasure. I've become interested in artists' work by attending exhibitions and asking lots of questions. I enjoy trying new products in a self-taught way. Epoxy, craquelure, and modeling clay are found on some of my canvases according to my whims. My realistic subjects are varied. Horses, ballerinas, and sailboats regularly appear on my canvases.
I had my first exhibition in Frelighsburg, the village where I grew up. I belong to the United Painters of Waterloo Association to exchange with other artists. In recent years, having more free time, I decided to participate in symposiums. One or two the first few years, and more and more. To give myself new challenges, I took pouring (acrylic casting) and epoxy classes.
