Eco-printing

 Biography

Originally from Montreal and adopted by Estrie for 14 years, it is in nature that I am in the present moment. I have lived in St-Étienne-de-Bolton for 10 years now. I fell in love with eco-printing on paper thanks to the artisan Martine Désilets from my village. Since the summer of 2022, I continue to deepen my knowledge of the different ways of eco-printing on paper. During 2023 and 2024, I attended several workshops on eco-printing on fabric with Marie-Ève Dion from Marie-les-Bains. Since then, my eco-printings on paper have taken off again thanks to plant dyes and flowers with tinctorial properties. In January 2024, I undertook an online training course to deepen the eco-printing technique on fabric and draw inspiration from another woman who is an expert in textiles in the world. I am in a period of exploration and I have new approaches in store for you in 2025.

 Approach

I grow flowers on our land to achieve self-sufficiency. It brings me great joy to follow all the stages of my creations from the seed in the soil through the selective picking to the assembly of my plant prints. My Facebook group Nature 1 Nation refers to my values of kindness, unity, love and solidarity and takes on its full meaning in nature.

Eco-printing is a technique that extracts color or dyes from leaves and flowers. The results are natural hues and shapes of great finesse. This technique is environmentally friendly and healthy. Every year, I eagerly await the arrival of spring to plant flower seeds for another beautiful season of eco-printing.
