Ceramics, cabinetmaking and painting

 Biographies and approaches

Lydia Fortin, ceramist-cabinetmaker, born in Montreal in 1968

A trained ceramist and cabinetmaker, I create pieces in clay or wood. I work with terra sigillata for its softness and the creation of diverse colors, always searching for a new shade. I also do smoking, woodturning, and cabinetmaking. "I am passionate about the transformation of materials and the diversity of forms."

Sharlotte Novoa Guandique, ceramicist-painter, born in Nicaragua in 1965

A ceramist specializing in wheel-thrown and shaped porcelain and the creation of colored engobes: "Ceramics is a way to express myself and show my Latin culture in Quebec. I am passionate about this craft. I love the connection between the clay and me: it's truly pure and unique."

 Approach

All our works are hand-painted and handmade. For the past twenty years, we have combined our techniques and worked closely together.

Our work consists of a series of artworks, each piece of which deserves the same attention and passion, which allows us to keep our inspiration alive.

Having the same way of thinking and the same love for art, we are accomplices in our creation.
