Cabinetmaking
Biography and approach
From a very young age, I was fascinated by wood, and before I was 20, I was already taking custom furniture orders. I was fortunate to meet several excellent cabinetmakers who inspired me in my woodworking.
My grandfather bought a wooded area in Saint-Étienne-de-Bolton in 1952. I spent my summers playing in the forest there, and in 1981, I moved my little family there. It's a great place to be inspired. It was when I bought a tractor and a wood mill that I finally had access to the forest that surrounds me.
I only work with the wood I harvest from our forest. After sawing and drying it for two or more years, I can finally transform it into products. I like to use several types of wood; I love them all; they each have their own characteristics, colors, densities, patterns, etc.
After more than 45 years, I still continue to be amazed by the beauty of wood.
